Eddie MerlaEddie Merla, PMI-ACP, PMP®, is the founder and owner of Duende Project Management Services. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) preparation instructor and a speaker and trainer on Agile, project management and leadership topics. He has over 25 years of project management and Agile experience including seven years leading international consulting engagements and projects. He has published multiple articles with the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and is a frequent presenter at PMI® Conferences and Congresses.

He is also the co-author of “Communicate, Lead, and Transform.” Additionally, he is an instructor for project management topics at the Rice Glasscock Continuing School of Continuing Studies.

Topic Synopsis:
If, as a leader, you are committed to creating an environment that fosters learning and growth, then you should learn how to mine value from effective feedback. In this session, you will learn to craft constructive, respectful, and actionable feedback, while also mastering the skills needed to receive and implement feedback gracefully. Project Managers should provide continuous feedback to their team members, helping them achieve their personal goals while contributing value to the project and organization.
This session will introduce you to the characteristics of great feedback and how to effectively give and receive feedback. Topics include knowing the context of feedback, enablers and obstacles to effective feedback, six strategies for giving effective feedback, and guidance for developing your feedback skills

She frequently speaks at these organizations.

As an independent business owner, Alise provides instructional design services on any topic. She carefully determines the current needs, defines the goals of training and creates materials to bridge the gap. Too direct? Too negative? Threatening? Rude? Managing tone in writing is challenging because we don’t benefit from tempering the message with voice tone body language and facial expression. This session shares five practical strategies to manage tone in written (and spoken) messages.
