Leverage your Military Experience into a Project Management Career

Our event will provide the information, guidance and access to programs within our chapter and Military community to help Military servicemembers and their families with a career in project management.

The Goal is the same as it also has been nation wide for all PMI Military chapters; To aid veterans, active military, and/or their families to:

  • Join PMI
  • Qualify for project management certifications
  • Certify - achieve PMI credentials
  • Place - secure employment in the PM profession

Rich Stowell: Military Mentor PMI Houston, US Army Vet, IT Project Manger at MeriPlex

Retired military officer, both Active and Reserve. Held manager /project manager positions in construction (military, homebuilding), consulting (ERP implementation), logistics (wholesale grocery & household goods), oil & gas services systems (development and management), and managed services (system monitoring, cybersecurity) since 1982.  PMP Certified since 2013; CSM certified since 2020.  Civil Engineering Degree.  Lives in Spring, TX with wife, Reni, and dog Sapa.  Both daughters are grown and have 2 grandchildren. Volunteer with Greater Houston Professionals, PMI Military Outreach, and Veterati.

Dr. Mitchell J Seal Academic: US Navy Veteran, Dean at Brazosport Community College

Dr. Mitchell J. Seal is an accomplished educational leader with over 30 years of experience in academic administration, accreditation, workforce development, and credentialing across both civilian and Department of Defense (DoD) environments. He currently serves as the Dean of Instruction for Health and Industrial Technology and Director of Workforce Development at Brazosport College, where he spearheaded initiatives like the Veterans to Work SAP program and implemented advanced learning technologies such as augmented and virtual reality. Dr. Seal was previously the founding Dean and CEO of DoD’s first/only all-Services regionally accredited AS and BS awarding institution, the Uniformed Services University College of Allied Health Sciences, and played a pivotal role in advising the Secretary of Defense's Career Investment Portfolio. His work includes extensive contributions to academic policy, the development of military-to-civilian credential pathways, and the creation of innovative educational models like Acadeum's course-sharing consortium. Dr. Seal’s expertise spans accreditation, strategic planning, and military education, making him a recognized thought leader and a sought-after consultant in both academic and government sectors. He holds an EdD in Educational Administration, an MEd in Instructional Technology, a BSN, and an AS in Biological Sciences.

Mr. Anthony L. Williams, Ed.M.,CWO4(Ret),USN, Veterans Education Program Specialists

Mr. Anthony L. Williams, Ed.M.,CWO4(Ret),USN is a 29-year retired Navy Veteran who had serviced from 1987 to 2017.  He currently services as a member of the Texas Veterans Commission Education Department Team, which services as the State Approving Authority (SAA) for the State of Texas.  Duties consist of  routine consultative services and technical assistance to Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) including public, private, and non-college degree schools.  Additionally, performs routine consultative services and technical assistance for program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations and the public for the State of Texas. He is currently a life member for Veterans of Foreign War (VFW)Post 9191 Killeen TX.  

Received his Undergraduate Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a Bachelor Science degree in Workforce Education and Development.  He also received his Master Degree in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership with a concentration in Human Resource Development from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

A Well-Rounded Industry Portfolio: Susan’s experience spans wholesale distribution, oil and gas, and healthcare (including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of ND). Her adaptability shines through diverse landscapes.
