Topic Synopsis:
Historically, Project Management has been rooted in more predictive methods, sometimes referred to a "waterfall". While adaptive (agile) methods in Project Management have grown in recent years, it's not always clear cut when it makes sense to use one method over another. In this session I will share some history on both predictive and adaptive methods to lay the groundwork for a more in-depth discussion on how we know when one approach might better than the other. Finally, we will discuss some common pitfalls and key takeaways.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will gain insight into how they can:
- Understanding the differences between predictive (waterfall) and adaptive (agile) methods.
- Learn how to determine which method to use.
- Understand common pitfalls when applying these methods.
