The Greater Houston area underwent unusual challenges lately. While we were still recovering from Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath, the unusually cold weather hit us bad in January. These natural events negatively impacted humans, property and businesses. The way Houstonians dealt with these challenges was commendable. They showed great character in cooperating with the authorities and helping each other. We showed the world, once again, that we are Houston Strong! |

We are also reminded about how project management community impacts millions of lives. Project Managers leave a mark on everything they touch: infrastructure, buildings, businesses, industrial plants, transportation systems, hospitals, and schools. The Project Management community plays a critical role in providing a safer and more modern lifestyle for our citizens. Just think about it. I attended a couple of PMIH Monthly meetings in January where attendees shared their thoughts on improving the services we offer. Some of the ideas were: adding more agile topics, increasing use of social media, and assistance to job seekers. These are great ideas, and we will take a very serious look at each of them. In Other News… Planning for the 2018 PMI Houston’s Annual Conference and Expo is in full swing. We continue to improve the quality of the conference and cater to the needs of our project management community. This year is no exception. Mark your calendars for June 4-5, 2018 and stay tuned for more details. February is the month to celebrate Valentine’s Day for many. We work very hard in our professional lives and deserve to lead enriched, joyful and fulfilled personal lives. Let’s remind ourselves to celebrate, enjoy and have fun not only in this month but year-long. Reach out and touch someone’s heart and make a difference in a loved one’s life! Exam Changes…
