Third Wednesday of the month @ 5:30 p.m.
Schlumberger Campus, 210 Schlumberger Drive, Sugar Land, TX 77478
Southwest Venue kicked off its 2017 schedule last Wednesday, January 18 with Mohan Sharma, the CEO and Managing Director of Prima Strategic Group, sharing his expertise with a room full of project managers, project managers in training, PMPs, and PMP hopefuls, all eager to learn about “Effective Management of Project Quality”.
During our time together, Mohan gave us a number of great tools, all best summarized through his Fundamental Principles of Quality Assurance:
- Plan what you do.
- Do what you plan.
- Document that you did it.
He further inspired us to contemplate how to apply the following project quality guidelines in our own workplace:
- Clearly define project objectives and scope
- Establish effective Project Quality Management Plan
- Implement CR based Surveillance Program
- Implement Value Added Audits and Assessments
- Set up a Project Management Tool Kit
We look forward to next month when Akinlolu Oni gives his insights into the roles investment governances play in Project outcomes. But that’s not all! Take a peek at a few other upcoming meetings that might be of interest to you: “Synchronizing PMBOK with Stage-Gate Processes” by Chris Delgardo, and in May, Jeppe Haansgaard, hailing from Denmark, will cover that timely challenge we can all relate to: “Why Change Fails”. We would love to see you at these and other meetings, so come on down the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. and join us for a good time filled with great speakers, learning, and networking! All you have to do is register at http://pmihouston.org/meetinginfo.php and show up at 210 Schlumberger Drive, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Parking and snacks are free for all attendees!
