    Topic Description:

In this session, PCU3ED will give the PMI® audience tools to adopt a coaching style. This will include both soft skills as well as MS Project tips

Coaching is a highly effective management tool and yet only a small number of project managers adopt a coaching style when supporting their staff. Coaching should not be viewed as a panacea when it comes to project management as it must always be used in conjunction with other techniques. It is a powerful tool that builds relationships, empowers people, encourages thinking (that can't be a bad thing) and ultimately helps the project manager to achieve results.

    Topic Description:

In this session, Bob Payne and Roland Cuellar of LitheSpeed will discuss being faced with the integration of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and nuclear engineering into complete and working systems under tight constraints at Westinghouse Nuclear Power. LitheSpeed will discuss how agile techniques were used in these highly complex, life-critical, enormously expensive, and highly regulated systems to improve and accelerate delivery at Westinghouse Nuclear Power.

Those familiar with lean engineering techniques know that agile actually has its roots in hardware engineering and manufacturing. Come and hear about some of the challenges involved and how agile thinking can be applied to such systems to improve speed, quality, and employee morale.

This also raises the question: “Is there a home for Agile in some of our complex Oil & Gas work?
